The Loadful driver app is for your company drivers. It is not on the public App Store; it is installed on company devices through Apple's business distribution, and we set that up with you — contact support to start.
What drivers do in it
- Go on and off duty. Location is recorded while a driver is on duty and at no other time; the server refuses any position reported outside an on-duty period.
- See the trip — its route and stops in order.
- Do the pre-trip inspection of the truck and trailer, mark any defect, call the truck safe or not safe, and sign it.
- Record COD cash or checks at the curb, with the amount and a photo.
- Snap fuel receipts — gallons, price, odometer and the photo — so the P&L can use real fuel cost.
The app works offline. Everything is saved on the device first and sent when there is signal, so an auction lot or a dead zone does not lose a signed inspection.
Enrol a driver
- Make sure the driver is in your fleet with their name spelled exactly as Super Dispatch spells it. Otherwise they will enrol fine and then see no trips.
- Open Fleet → Drivers and find them under Not yet enrolled.
- Click Enrolment code. The code is shown once — read it to the driver.
- The driver types it into the app. There is no password; the device holds its own credential.
A lost or replaced iPad can be revoked from the devices list on Fleet → Drivers, which signs it out for good without touching anyone else's device.
In the office
- Fleet → Drivers shows where every on-duty driver is, and each driver's shifts as a trail and a timeline of drives and stops.
- Fleet → Inspections is the queue of defect reports nobody has certified yet. Certify each one — repaired, or repair not needed — and print it for the audit file. A truck reported not safe should not be dispatched until it is certified.
- COD collections, reached from the Drivers tab, is what each driver said they collected; compare it with the handover on Cash & checks.
- For hourly drivers, on-duty time is the time they are paid for.
Not an ELD. The driver app does not keep hours-of-service records and must not be shown to an officer as one. Car haulers are ELD-mandated under 49 CFR 395; keep using your certified ELD for that. The duty toggle is a consent gate for location tracking and, for hourly drivers, a time clock.
The app inspects the truck, not the cargo. Super Dispatch already requires vehicle inspection photos at pickup and delivery, so Loadful does not ask drivers to do that walk-around twice.
Tell your drivers. Location tracking of employees is regulated in several states, including California, Illinois and New York. Before rolling the app out, give your drivers a written notice of what is tracked and when, and get their consent. That policy is yours to set; we are happy to share what the app records.
Hardware note: Wi-Fi-only iPads have no GPS chip. For location on the road, use cellular iPad models.
